Teach Soap

I just soaped Honey Ale, frankly I don't think it smells like it's got any beer fragrance in it at all. Has anyone else used this FO? I also bought Oatmeal Stout and now Im kind of afraid to use it. It's not what I expected.

I have the Oatmeal stout one and made soap with it a couple months ago, it is on my top 4 list of my favorites BUT I don't smell any beer AT ALL.
My husband who smells everything with me didn't smell any either and he drinks those stout, "thick type", pricey kind of beers.
to me it's more butterscotch with cream or milk or something.
Here is my soap I made with it and my description.
Don't be afraid to use it, it is wonderful but I would call it something else if you are selling it lol

Thanks for your advice Shineycat. I'll take it! Shame though, I was looking forward to beer smelling soaps. I think BB dropped the ball on this one.

ShinyCat - those are really nice bars! I love putting oatmeal in my soap and I like that the color is natural.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Those soaps look very nice. The fragrance might react differently in CP since it's in contact with lye. MP is already made, so the fragrance shouldn't change.

not meaning to whine but there is no beer fragrance in my Honey Ale FO. Not even in the bottle.

I'm so sorry you don't like them. They've been really well received thus far. They're not designed to smell like beer-beer-beer (who really wants to come out of a shower smelling like beer?) but be complimentary for those who are making beer soap so you have some alternative to just OMH, or Vanilla based fragracnes that are so commonly used with beer soap =)

no problem and thank you all It really is one of my favorite soaps and over 2 months later the smell is just as strong (this is M&P) and smells yummy.
I visited a scent review place and if I remember correctly, everyone really loved the Raspberry Porter one also. That's on my list of something to try soon.
I guess sometimes you hear "beer" and really think it should smell like beer, but yea I don't know of anyone that really wants to smell like actual beer lol Probably a good novelty soap though if it smelled like straight beer out of the can.
I did find one, I don't like linking to other websites..I feel quilty lol But here is a straight beer if you need one. Has good reviews and they said it mostly does smell like beer

I like the smell of the Honey Ale I soaped with just need to figure out what to call it.

not sure, it's light and fruity . I'll have to wait and try it after it cures.
