Teach Soap

help, I can't make up my mind! Which do you think I should go with (I don't want to order both) Lemongrass EO or Sage & Lemongrass FO? I don't know what they smell like...I've used Coconut Lemongrass before and loved that.

Do you prefer EO's ot FO's? Lemongrass EO is nice for blends with other EO's. Sage & Lemongrass is good as is.

I love the Sweetgrass FO! I have the Lemongrass EO on my wishlist. Wish I could win the lottery.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I guess I prefer FOs..they're all I've ever used, except for one, Litsea. If the Sage & Lemongrass is a good FO, then I think I might go with that. I just see the Lemongrass EO mentioned a lot but if it's better in blends, then I don't I know if I want to go that route yet...could start getting spendy! I think you've helped me decide, soapbuddy..thanks!

I blended lemongrass with spearmint and the blend smells beautiful but if you are on a budget FO's would be more economical as you need to use less amount than EO's

FO's tend to be more potent fragrances. EO's on the other hand have more nutritional value for the skin. But both will make your soap smell nice and pretty. I just really love the combination of sage and lemongrass, so I would go with that one.

Lemongrass & spearmint is one of my favorites. Also try lemongrass & rosemary.

well, I haven't totally written off EOs...one of these days I'll order some to experiment with, meaning blending, because I know there are a couple that I can't handle the smell of on their own (lavender and tea tree come to mind) but I might like them if they're blended with something else. I do like spearmint...might have to try the lemongrass and spearmint recommendation first, when I get to that point! But I am going to go with the sage and lemongrass FO first and see how I like that. Thanks!

You could always get the EO and then get a sage EO and blend your own, or not blend, blend with something else....or not, you get the point! I blender lemongrass EO w/ sage EO in a liquid hand soap, then blended lavender and sage and also orange 10x and sage. They were all great in my opinion!

Just out of interest, does anyone have a sensitivity to lemongrass EO? I'm beginning to think I do, but it's hard trying to eliminate other culprits when you have 10+ bars in your shower

Lemongrass is considered non-toxic, but it carries a possible dermal irritation and/or sensitization warning with it, so yes that could be it. Patch test time! But really that is always a good idea when using an essential oil. Additionally, if it was not diluted enough (which it probably was, since it was in soap) it would likely cause a skin irritation, even if you were not truly allergic. I guess you will have to wash the soap off....with some soap
