I only ordered a few small bottles of FOs from BB because I wasn't sure if I would like soapmaking, but now that I am addicted, I want (NEED!!!) to order more.

What are some of your favorite FO/EO to use in CP that don't fade away too after being exposed to lye?

Thanks!
Linda

It depends what kind of scents that you like. Fruity? Floral? Spicy? Clean? Bakery types?

I fully agree with Soapbuddy, it's all relative and personal preference. That being said, in our house, the following are our favorite soap fragrances so far (all BB FO & EOs)...

10x Orange EO (such a wonderful wake up scent) we have to refrain from eating it. Smells just like a juicy cold orange!
Rosemary EO & Eucalyptus EO blended @ 50/50 Great for opening the sinuses & when we have a cold.
Cinnamon Sugar FO Just yummy. Cinnabon move over!
Love Spell FO
And a mystery fragrance that I received as a sample & they're currently working diligently to tell me what it is (the label ate itself in shipping).

Usage rates are personal preference & we use anywhere from .5 oz ppo to 1oz depending on the strength & our desired scent level for the soap we're making.
I order more scents regularly (much to the Mr's chagrin) but I can't help it. I have the best smelling loft in our building!

Thanks! I like most types of scents, but for personal use prefer light, spicy & clean. I was mainly wondering which scents seem to hold up better in CP. I like BB Sweetgrass FO, but it seemed to fade in CP.

I made some MP as gifts for Christmas using BB Blackberry Spice FO and when my hubby got home he asked me if the Kool-Aid factory exploded in our house! Not one of my fave scents, but my sis & nieces love it. :P

If you like clean and or spicy FO that really sticks in CP my personal favorites are:
Bonsai
Green Garden
Red Currant & Thyme
Sage & Lemongrass
Ocean Rain
Lavender and Herb blends with Neroli

The first 3 are pretty strong so if you like it light use less, they really sticks to CP. The last 3 are refreshing, lighter than the first 3 but behave great in CP also.

Thank you cat040876. Sage & Lemongrass is on my BB wishlist and I have the lavender & herb FO. I think I didn't use enough of it in my batch of soap because it wasn't very strong after gel. The Red Currant & Thyme sounds nice. is it from BB? I like the BB Cranberry /Pomogranite FO.

My all time favorite is patchouli, but it is either a love it or leave it scent for most people. Another of my favorites is Black cherry and vanilla select - smells good enough to eat. For earthy scents: sensous sandlewood and ariabian spice. Two favorites of family and friends are: OMH and lavendar\tea tree. So even though I have favorites it is fun to try new ones... just made a leather soap and can hardley wait to use it!

I definitely want to try the red currant & thyme. It sounds like something I would really like. Thanks for your input!

I just made a batch of Lilac and I love it. It reminds me of my childhood in Seattle. We don't have lilacs in southern California. Some people have accelerated trace problems but I was very careful and had no issues.
