If both are made with CP, do the embed first, get it your of your mold and make an overpour batch as soon as the embed is out of the mold. That way both cure at the same time.

They are both CP. Do I need to let the soap sit in the column/tube mold for at least 24 hours before removing it from that mold?

So let me see if I have this straight:

I pour CP soap into my heart-shaped silicone tube mold, then put it in the oven to gel
The next morning I pull the tube mold out of the oven and unmold the soap
Then I place the unmolded Heart-shaped soap into the bottom of my wooden loaf mold
Then I pour a fresh batch of CP soap over the Heart-shaped soap that is in my loaf mold
Then I gel the whole thing again

Is that right?

Hmmmm . . . I planned on using my Pinkberry High pH Labcolor from Bramble Berry. Maybe I'd better contact them to find out if it would bleed under these circumstances.

Thanks!

I am also thinking that you could pour half the soap (the overpour) into your loaf mold, put the heart embed in the center and then pour the next half over it. That should leave the heart in the center of your bars.

That sounds like a good idea. Would I blend the soap to a heavy trace?

I'm not sure I'm supposed to post on this forum where I got it since it wasn't from Bramble Berry. (I think this particular forum is run by Bramble Berry?)

Anyway, BB didn't have this mold so I got it from another supplier. It's made from silicone and cost $24.95 including shipping and taxes. I'm planning to try it this weekend so I'll post pics.

I unmolded the hearts from the silicone mold this morning. The soap came out of the mold easily and looks pretty good except the texture all along the outside is a little bubbly. Hopefully that won't matter once these are embedded.

I'm going to make another loaf of soap this afternoon and try to embed two of the large hearts within the mold. I was thinking of not coloring the rest of the loaf but I'm not sure how that will look. Maybe if I use my original recipe with 1/3 coconut oil, the loaf will turn out fairly white.

Hope it turns out since yesterday's vanilla-layered loaf flopped miserably :|

Looks good so far. Good luck with the overpour.

Well my little experiment with the heart column embed worked pretty well. By looking at the closeup pic of my finished soap, I see that it did not completely gel though. Hopefully the top of the heart (where it didn't gel) won't pull apart from the rest of the soap when it cures.
