The rebatch I was planning on using for my shaving bar is a Bramble Berry Shea Butter rebatch so if I don't find the aloe tomorrow then I'll go ahead and make it without it this time around. I wish I had a Whole Foods near me.

I have several Aloe plants. We use it for burns, just pick a leaf cut it open and spread the gel like goo on the burned spot, even for sun burns.

So do you use your own aloe like some use Avocado butter straight from the grocer?

Aloe straight from the plant is a gel, but if you leave it be, it will turn into a liquid.

I guess I never let my aloe sit long enough! We always just peeled a leaf and rubbed it on wherever we needed it.

The recipe I used for rebatch aloe bars said to use either purchased aloe vera gel or freshly prepared aloe vera puree, made by taking 6-10 whole stems of aloe, cutting them into small pieces and puree in a blender until a gel results (do not add water). I used the storebought gel and it worked fine.

Here is a new twist to me on shaving products. I read about this in the newspaper three or so days ago. It was in an article about packing well for long distant travel!

This company has stores all over and this is the first I've come across it. Interesting product that brought me to the shop! Shaving oils! Yep

OH My! they sell brushes made of badger hair. Now I am concerned how they get that! I have lived in Wisconsin all my life and have never eaten badger. Never knew there was a market for anything badger (except the collage apparel).
