Hi!

I'm making a homemade soap cutter using music wire. Through research I foumd that a gauge of 20-22 works best, however I ordered piano wire ( music wire) at a gauge of 20 and it is incredibly hard to work with and creates curls of soap on the edges of my loaves.

Does anyone know the difference between 20 gauge piano wire and guitar wire? Or any suggestions on the best size gauge to use for durability that will not create the curling or waste soap?

My soap cutter uses metal fishing wire... I'm not sure which guage.
I notice if the loaf is too cold or too hard I can get those curls but if I let it get to room temp or just make sure I cut it while it is still soft then it cuts ok.
