I want to make some pink CP soap for Valentine's Day but I won't get a chance to make it until Thursday, Dec 23. Is there any way I can speed up the curing time so that it will be ready in time for Valentine's Day?

I should explain myself a little better. I would like to have the soap ready by February 1 so that I can try to sell some BEFORE Valentine's day.

Whether CP or HP, soap will be at its best with 4 to 6 weeks curing time. That way the water can evaporate, the soap will be harder and will last longer in the shower. Jan 23rd will make it 4 weeks, so you should be ok. If you know that the fragrance used will not accelerate trace, you could discount your water and make the soap as CPOP.

With CPOP, make the soap, then put it into a 170 degree (US). Leave it there til you get a full gel. Take it out, let it come to room temp, then cut it.

That's good news because I was thinking CP needed to cure for 6-8 weeks. Yay!

I saw your answer to Lynn and it made me wonder; why can't a person just use the exact recipe they always use but just take out a slight amount of the water? Why does it have to be run through a lye calculator if you are only going to take out 1/2oz or 1oz of the water? That seems like such a small change.
