Teach Soap

Hi, for some reason the search link isn't working.
I have a question: The weather over here is changing fast and it's getting quite cold. Does this affect the CP soapmaking process? I know I have to wrap more the soap in the mold so it can reach the right temperature and maintain it to saponify, but I wonder if I have to let the lye solution and oil mixture a little hotter than usual when mixing.
Don't know if I'm making sense here or not.
Help!

The only difference that I would make is preheat the mold if it's oven safe.

I live in a drafty old house and we keep our thermostat quite low in the winter, so if I'm doing a small batch (like 16-20 oz) I found that I have to soap at a hotter temperature than usual otherwise the batch cools too quickly while stirring and I get a false trace. Usually I soap between 105 and 110 degrees. In the winter, I soap at 115-120 degrees. Its a small change, but it seems to make a big difference for me. Heating the mold sounds like a great tip too! I haven't tried that yet, but I think I will next time... I currently have a batch wrapped in three large, heavy blankets and I think my dog is eyeing the massive mound of quilts as a potential new doggy bed
