I have a large plastic jug and I put my colour and half my scent in that before I start mixing the soap. When it gets to trace I put half the soap into the jug and mix it with the stick blender, and mix the rest of the scent into the uncoloured soap in the pot. This gets everything mixed well and I can then swirl the colours together.

If I didn't want to swirl I would add the colour and scent to the soap at trace. Some fragrances can make the soap set up quickly so I have to watch for that and as soon as it starts to get thick I mould.
