Teach Soap

I have treid & Treid to get peaks on my soap, I have treid at almost all stages after pour, I treid a small spatula & I treid a spoon & after it had been sitting for 30 mins I treid pulling peaks by hand with my fingers!
Darn it all ! Its seems that the soap won't stand up & won't hold & when I wait a little longer it gets kinds grainy & lumpy.
What am I doing wrong?

What is your recipe? At what temp do you mix your oils and lye? If you are using scent, does it accelerate trace?

Hey Soap buddy recipe is
13 oz coconut
10 oz canola
3 oz castor
6 oz EVOO
run thru calculator
soaped @ approx 112
But it doesn't seem to matter the recipe
I feel like I need a tool?
Poured at light- med trace
& I try to sculpt anywhere from right when I pour to 30 mins after its been poured & it doesn't seem to wanna sculpt
I'm determined!!!
this is harder than making the perfect pie crust!

Your recipe and temp look ok. I would try to pour at medium trace, then leave it be in the mold til it reaches thick trace. Some things that people use for the peaks are a chopstick, a fork, a spoon, butter knife or a spatula.

yep I hit up the "Other Soap forum" & got inspired, made a batch this am I think its better but I'm working on it.
