What am I doing wrong? I wish I could take a class somewhere. Actually make soap with someone who knows what they're doing. The first couple times I was making M&P I was getting tons of bubbles on top and late realized that I was using hydrogen peroxide and realized it should have been rubbing alcohol. Right??

Since then I stated using the alcohol and now my layers seperate. I don't get it. Especially since the melted soap is so hot that one bottom layer actually ripped and opened, yet they are not molding together.

Help?

What type of a alcohol are you using?

Try 91% isopropyl alcohol. If that doesn't help, it could be your base.

I've only ever seen 70%. Where would I get 91%?

Thanks soapbuddy. I'll try tomorrow. I hope I can get it to work. I love soap, but I'm having a tuff time of it. Never been very crafty. Will try, try, try again!

New problem with seperating layers. I figured out what was wrong before.... I was spritzing after pouring, but I was forgetting to spritz again just before the pouring the next layer. So....

I just poured a pink layer in the plastic 12" loaf mold from Brambleberry, spritzed. Chilled
Poured the next layer of clear, spritzed. Chilled (FORGOT TO SPRITZ BEFORE I POURED)!!
So I stopped and did not continue with the next 2 layers.

What can I do?? Should I let it all settle and then seperate the bottom layer re-melt it and pour it in the bottom again and gently place the clear layer on top of it? Do I have to re-melt the clear layer as well?

I would separate the payers, chop and melt them both up and then start again! You may find that they stick together anyway but generally they won't :(
Good luck! I kept forgetting to spritz between layers when I started so now I make sure I keep my spray bottle RIGHT NEXT TO where I'm going to pour! Now it's a habit (even though I can still forget every now and then lol)

Just a though here. When you chill do you put the soap in the refrigerator? I ask because it can form moisture drops which might be adding to a problem with splitting layers. Some where I read that putting m and p in the refer isn't a good idea, but of course rules are made to be broken! Hope your recovered soap worked!
