I just soaped with this on Sunday...let's just say it was an interesting evening. I have only soaped with 2 other FOs before so I am not that experienced and I also have a very sensitive nose. So as I had measured out all my ingredients, I measured the fo last. It smelled very strong, but nice. As I continued soaping I started getting a massive headeache from the smell I am guessing. After I finished I had to air out the house overnight. The next day it wasn't so bad just a bit chocolatey. I unmolded my soap today and it has a lovely chocolate smell, but I don't know if I can soap it again. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I also added goats milk and wanted to do a nice in the pot swirl. I planned on doing a white swirl so I separated some soap at very light trace then I added the fo to the rest because I know it will discolor to a dark brown. I continued stick blending the fragranced portion, but it took a long time to thicken up. By the time I poured the white in the pot, the white kind of just glopped in because it was so thick. So maybe I should restir the separated part before adding it back in next time. Also, it started to discolor to a mauve which I thought was strange. I though this may have been due to the powdered gm, but it is now turning a nice tan color and I am expecting it to darken considerably.

So my verdict is it is a great smelling fo, but it may be something I cannot tolerate  making.

I have heard of others getting headaches from certain FO. I also have a friend that will have a migrain triggered by any kind of floral scent. I am hoping to soap with this in about 10 days (my order from BB should arrive this week 8) ). I will let you know if I have any problems.

I'm wondering if it's the combined fresh ammonia type smell of the milk soap combined with a good whiff of the FO when you poured it into the hot soap batter. It should settle down for you. I would soap it next time in a draught with the window open so that the fumes are blown out and away from you whilst you are working.

I can't soap some EO's due to the blast that I get when stirring them in.

I'm treating a FO-triggered migraine this morning  Definitely aim for better air circulation next time - can you use an extension cord/exterior outlet & do your blending outside at all? I am deeply, madly in love with my air purifier - I run it any time I'm working with a lot of different scents throughout the day, or when I know I'll be working with one that gives me headaches. Doesn't save me all the time (see today), but it certainly helps.

I agree - the coloring is turning out quite nicely. Fudge is a good description =)

Did my Hot Cocoa soaps today. I love the fragrance - my kitchen smells soooo good right now! Did not get a headache (lasts weeks peppermint gave me a pain in more than one way). I also took about 8 oz of the soap out and used a non-discoloring vanilla in this and the hot cocoa in the other. Same experience as CMD... my hot cocoa stayed fluid and the white accelerated to a heavy trace so I just stired it in and plopped the 'mallows' on top. I really should try to learn from the experiences of others  . Hopefully I can cut it tomorrow.
CMD, thanks for the photos. At least I know this pinky brown that I have right now will go to more chocolate.
