Hello again, I'm trying to formulate some recipes for dry skin. This would be to sell (and my use!)
I'll start off by asking this...the website has it listed under floral waters, the MSDS says this " By-product of the steam distillation of the flowers" So is that a hydrosal? It also says this "Our floral waters are a mixture of distilled water and fragrant essential oils and absolutes."

So my first question is if I make a toner using only Helichrysum and Chamomile, would I need a preservative?
I'm surprised that as much as this website has, the only have Liquid Germall Plus as a preservative, unless I'm missing something somewhere.

Second question, If I make a serum and it is all oil based, I'm assuming I don't need a preservative right? It would be in a dropper type bottle.

If I think it is who I think it is their MSDS sheet is old and not valid.
Anytime there is water involved, you will need a preservative. Each vendor has a preference for a preservative. Some carry a lot of them, some only a few. If your serum is oil based and there is no chance that water will get introduced into your formula, then no, you don't need a preservative.

hi, yea it is kinda old I guess..says Feb 2010..well that's not that old I suppose.
says this is the ingredients (i tried to paste it but it messed up) in a nutshell..
the floral water itself
veg glycerin
castor oil
Potassium Sorbate
citric acid
Dimethicone Defoamer

They don't really give any directions for use, or how to preserve it
I see some sellers just selling this water as is as a toner, wasn't sure if I should do that or if it needed to be preserved.

I did find a recipe (that uses a preservative) from a link you shared with someone else. Swiftycraftmonkey blog (which I'm loving so far).
She uses some things I haven't seen before though..

ok, yea I noticed that a couple other places are using them interchangeably as well! Like they are all the same thing. These places make it more confusing lol
