Hello, I'm looking at FO's planning on my next purchase already lol. I'm thinking of getting the BB MP soap sampler pack.
I ordered a few too many fall type FO, with lots of spice and cinnamon so I'm looking for some to add to a "regular" line.
Can you believe I just saw the limited section on BB? I didn't even know those existed.
anyway, I saw a couple that were ocean type. Which ones do you all like? I want it to smell oceany, salty and not have a whole lot of other scents in there.
I also see a Leather FO. Anyone tried that one? I love leather, and looking for some unique scents that aren't all dessert types.
I got Beau Brummel which I love, Berrywine which while I don't think it smells like wine I love the fruitiness of it. I'm IN LOVE with Oatmeal Stout, although I smelled no beer in it at all. I also ordered Turkish Mocha which I'm in love with.
So other then those 4, do you have any suggestions for the ocean one , along with some unique ones?

Sorry cannot help you with the oceany one, but I would like to see what others recommend for that too. My top sellers this year are Huckleberry (from Sweetcakes) and Dragonsblood (from BB). I am shocked at how many bars of the Dragonsblood that sold at my last show a few weeks ago, it went fast..of course I used a cute little line that my husband slayed the dragon and I make the soap with the blood..people loved it and bought it right up...then I did give them the real description BB uses. Good choice on the Beau Brummel, I use that for one of my salt bars.

I know it's a love-hate one, but I really like Salty Mariner - very cold & stony. Not digging Ocean Rain, but that's just on a test swatch - haven't tried it in soap.

Lovelovelove BB's Leather - very true, like glossy black leather. I blend it with honey & incense & it's by far my best selling scent.

Unusual ones that I adore - Smokey Patchouli, Fresh Zucchini Flower, Cybilla's Celestial Waters, Tomato Leaf, Black Amber & Lavender & Vanilla Oak. On the fence about Chipotle Caramel, Saffron & Honey & Honey Ale.

Wonderful basics that I use for blending: Gold, Frank & Myrrh, regular Patchouli, Sweet Grass, Sandalwood Vanilla.

If you decide that you want to more Beau Brummel, PM me - I got a 1-ounce in my last order & it gives me the most atrocious migraines :(

Beware the more I read here the more I want. My favorite ocean scent is a perfume from Ireland called Inis. If I could make soap that smelled like this I would be in Heaven! I am ordering the leather, my husband made me a leather scented candle and it is my favorite of all times.

thank you all for the suggestions! I'm going to write them all down. I have WAY too many in my cart now. Of course my ink cartridge is about to run out, so I might have to wait :(
sorry that beau gives you a headache. So far out of 12 that I have, lily of the valley (from somewhere else) gives me a migraine from hell, and BB Berrywine. Out of the bottle though, not in the finished product thank god.
dusty that's cute, wish I was creative like that lol
Tart, which FO is like honey? I'm pretty sure I read most descriptions didn't see honey anywhere. Then again I might skip over some. Wish you could smell them through the screen lol

Edit, i wanted to ask also..do you think it's helpful to go smell incense in a store to compare? There are some FO descriptions that I find confusing because I don't know what some scents smell like to begin with. Like Patchouli , have no idea what that is. A couple other ones too, can't think of off the top of my head.

Incense will smell differently than any other bath and body product with that fragrance. It might give you a slight idea, but not the whole picture.

I personally prefer Sea Shore Cybillia to Ocean Rain. I wouldn't describe Ocean Rain as salty, personally, and Sea Shore has that wonderful salted water smell. Really fun for blending - you'd be surprised how many fruits (melon is my favorite) and other types of smells go beautifully with Sea Shore!
