Teach Soap

This weekend's batch: Sunrise Melon. BB Cucumber Melon FO; OO, CO, PO, Castor, Shea butter, Jojoba, Sweet Almond. Superfatted at 7.5% because I haven't gone that high yet and wanted to see what happened.



2 more batches to go before Xmas cure deadline and then in Nov I start making bath bombs and sugar scrubs. LOL Having fun and busy.

Very pretty mella, so delicate!

Here's my Hot Cocoa with mini marshmallows. The marshmallows are MP tucked into the top. They will darken during cure time to a richer dark brown. The FO is BB Hot Cocoa, which smells sooo delicious, now my house smells like chocolate and it makes me hungry!

Your marshmallow coco looks delish! I love how the marshmallows sit up and the swirl seems to be melted marshmallow floating on top of the cocoa! Nice design!

Alright guys, here's my soaping adventure. I have postet links to the pictures because I think they are too big to put on the page.
I went to a workshop to learn how to make CP soap and this is the result:

Then I had a go at home and this is what I ended up with:

I think I will have to try a re-batch sometime.
Then I made these and they turned out okay, only I substitutet the olive oil with rapeseed oil and didn't adjust the numbers so I had to put them in the freezer to get them out of the mold hence the rather sad looking specimen on the right. But they smell divine (the red ones are fennel and lime and the greenish ones are jasmin and mint).

I tried making my own recipe without coconut oil and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the gel consistency it has. Or maybe I didn't whisk it for long enough.

But anyway, that is what I have been up to the last few days.

AntonieMarie, you are off to a good start. We learn from our mistakes as well. Your swirls are fantastic as well as the colors. Be sure you run each receipe thru a soap calculator, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks Susie. Yes I keep telling myself that I learn something everytime I make a mistake. I did use a soap calculator for the last soap so hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

My very first CP batch



1#, mixed oils (olive, coconut, palm, castor), scented with BB's Sandalwood Vanilla, no colorant... I LOVE it! Cutting this afternoon, excited to see if I did in fact get a bit of gel in the very center...
