For some reason, my last few batch's of soap have come out really thick. I use a combo of 3 oils (either coconut, palm, olive, or canola, and I tried to use beeswax in a few to avoid ash, recomended by Soapbuddy) and I mix them to a super lite trace, then add fragrance and color (each batch has had mica) and with in minutes it is super thick. Can't figure out whats causing it. The only factor that I believe is consistant is the use of mica.

It could be the temp that you combine your oils and your lye or your fragrance oils.

You mentioned beeswax, perhaps the batch got too cool for the beeswax? I don't use it in my soaps but perhaps others might chime in.

I use a little bit of bees wax in my CP and have'nt noticed it making it thicker.

I combine them at about 115 degrees

I soap at 110 degrees and put the bees wax in when Im melting my oils. If that helps.
