Hi guys hope everyone is have a nice Friday :) Can anyone share where I can find my info on line about no gel phase and no insulating cp soaps? I guess I am way behind the times on this. I cover all my soaps under about 10 blankets because the person who taught me how to make soaps around four years ago stressed the importance of doing this. Thanks!

I don't gel and prefer not to. After my soap is poured into the mold, I put it in the fridge or the freezer; up to overnight. Then I let it come to room temp and cut it. Be aware that ungelled soap takes longer to saponify, so it might zap, up to three days later, so use gloves when cutting. Also, depending on your recipe, it might be softer at first.

I really enjoy the texture of my un-gelled soaps. They have the feel of velvet to my hands! I let them cure from 6 to 8 weeks. They are a bit soft sometimes, depending on fragrance when they come out of the mold, but they harden up as they cure. You might find info about this on the about soap or other forums also.

I make both, but I prefer to use non-gelled soap. Like the other post said, it feels very silky/velvety. No matter what you do, if your fomula is right, it will saponify. But if you do not insulate, then the soap will take longer to cure. I think it's worth the wait. :D

I tried soapbuddy's technique last night and the soap came out great!!! However, I got in a big hurry to cut it instead of letting it sit at room temp. It shattered a little so I stopped after cutting about 6 bars. Now I will take a nap and let it sit.

Whipped soap from Nizzy indeed needs to be cold with cold lye water. You won't be able to whip it if it's at 110 degrees.

Selena I love your log mold! The colors are nice. Did you cut it yet? Wondering about the inside! Heh!

How long will you let your non gelled soap cure before you use it?

Mella I did cut it but not so sure it didn't gel on it's own, or it is still drying, looks kind of darker than I hoped it would be but I was going for fall colors and I guess it kind of looks like fall color leaves :P Here is what it looks like, oh, it is still soft so I will let it cure for at least 6 wks. I made a second batch with a Christmas scent and I put this one in the fridge like Soapbuddy said and I think this one will turn out better.
