I made a 4 lb batch of soap last night and split it into half to make two different soaps. Simple recipe of almond, sunflower, palm, coconut, and a titch of avocado.
I just got new LabColors and tried them out for the first time. Whoah . . . I may have over-colored. The colors are very intense/dark. I don't think so much so that it is unusable, but we might have some colored suds. Is that going to be okay? I wouldn't want someone to have skin staining. It CPOP'd so I'll try to test a bar soon and see how much color transfer happens. I guess I'd like to know if over-dyed soap is generally okay to use and is only an aesthetic issue??
My next dilemma is that while scenting and working with the first half - my second batch of batter thickened considerably while it waited in the wings. Not so much that it seized, just a much thicker trace than the other when getting it into the mold. Due to the thickness, it appears upon unmolding and cutting that my fragrance oil may not have fully incorporated. (hubby helped stir that batch! yes I will blame him and feel no shame.

) When I sliced I saw little thin veins of "oil" liquid in a few spots. There is no zap. It smells like the FO. And it isn't throughout the whole thing. Just here and there. Is this still fine and usable? Or does a bit of unincorporated FO mean it is doomed?
Thanks in advance for the guidance - just want to have a better understanding and be led in the right direction.
