Teach Soap

What will make a nice blue color in my CP to make a nice blue swirl? I know that ultramarine blue I just used turned slate color. I'm not happy about that. I realize that CP is a challenge but I could use some advice.

I've used the ultramarine blue and had very good luck with it. However, I use TD in my oils first because I use mostly olive oil that is yellow. Have you tried using TD in your oils to get a whiter "start"? Just a thought.
I'm sure other, more experienced soapers here will have better advice.

I didn't think to use TD first. ........mmmmmmmmmm Will that fix the problem?

I used olive oil in the recipe too and it would have been alright if it turned out a blue green color ( from the yellow/green of that oil. It started out alright then got sort of bluish/gray.

The lighter your oils and butters are the better results with ultramarine blue. I have used it with good results.

maybe my problem was that I didn't use enough blue. I know with purple ( violet oxide ) that happens.

what I was going for was a light blue swirl.

I just cut that soap and it turned out better that I thought it would. Im happy about that cause I've got a whole jar of that blue color. But I think I'll use some TD first then add the blue swirl.

that was a nice thing to say. I'll
take a picture of them this week and load it into the computer. I seem to have no trouble putting pictures on facebook for some reason. You can see alot of my soap pics on my companys face book page Autumn Woods Soap Co. , Williamsport ,Pa. At least I figured out how to post them there.
