Hi, Naomi! Had a look at that link you showed us for your soap colors. Did you get the "water-soluble lakes" or the other dyes? Read the info on the others, and yes, they are bleeding type dyes, except for the water soluble lake ones.

From my experience (mishaps?) and reading the past experiences of others here on the forum, if you wait too long before pouring your next layer, the bar will break apart or not stick together at all.

Have you tried color blends yet? Go here . They have a lot of other techniques that you might find interesting too, including a tutorial on layering.

Just an idea here, but fill each mold with water from a measuring cup, checking to see how many oz's are in each mold after you pour. That should tell you about how much each one holds. I usually use 4oz (some are a little over, some are a little under) molds, so that way I can use 16 oz of base. It's not as much as you would think!! 4 bars....

I have a loaf mold too that I want to play with-actually, I'm dying to use it and try out some new stuff!! Good luck!
