I am curious to know if I can color my cp soap (full gel) with this to get a nice baby pink or darker. How much should I use per pound and will it fade over time? My base oils are very light. Any insite would be great. Also, will it bring any moisturizing or other properties to the soap, or would that all just burn off?

Well this is French pink clay in a bar with no other color or fragrance. Made with coconut milk.

The clay colored part of the batch a peachy color here. But in M and P it gives more of a pink color like this watermellon.

Edit Removed photo that was too large

Hopefully someone can tell us about Aussie Pink Clay!

My soap came out a subdued earthy pink. If you want a bright pink I would go with lab made colors.

Thank you for your reply and such nice photo's of your soaps. Both colors are very pretty.

Thanks Soapbuddy for your input, I don't need a bright pink..any pink/peach tone would be fine. How much do you recommend I use?

I will give it a try and thanks for letting me know I need to hydrate it first, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Hi dustygarden

I'm a big fan of Aussie pink clay! Here's a picture of a batch (1kg of oils) for which I used 3 tsps (15ml) of Aussie pink clay, mixed in with the oils and fully gelled. I find other clays usually need a larger quantity of clay to get a nice colour. Pink clay never seems to fade in CP soap, unlike paprika!

When I change my base recipe to include EVOO instead of pomace, this does impact on the colour and changes it to a "salmony" pink.

Wow Teresa, thanks for the photo. That is the color I was hoping to get. I hope to try it out today, if I could just get a little bit of me time. Thanks everyone.

I have used Australian pink clay, but don't think I used enough.. about a teaspoon to a kilo of oil..I was erring on the side of caution, so mid mix, I quickly added 1/2 Red Clay and this was the result - oops sorry the piccie is so big
