Has anyone tried to make litterbox deodorizer? I was thinking of adding FO to baking soda. Plain soda isn't scented enough. I've purchased something that works but it pretty spendy for what it is. Thoughts?

Is this for the inside of a little box? Cats are very sensitive to FO or EO's.

Yes, it is sprinkled in with the litter. Arm & Hammer makes a product that I like but it pretty spendy for a box. Is there something "natural" I can mix in with baking soda? Just baking soda alone doesn't seem to be enough.

I know this is a little off-point, but maybe it will help. I have a litterbox that was having odor problems also. I had never had a cat, so I didn't really know what I was doing. After doing some research I learned that the traditional clay litters are horrible for the environment after you throw them away and with how it is strip-mined. Anyway, I tried to find a natural litter. I tried World's Best Cat Litter and it smelled weird and my cat wouldn't use it. I tried Sweatscoop which is made out of wheat, is flushable, and it doesn't even smell-you would never even know I had a cat (and my mother would be very honest about any smells in my house!). I highly recommend it is you have any litter odor issues and it will not harm your cat.

Thanks for the additional suggestion. Unfortunately, I've tried other litters like the crystals and the pine litter and my cats just won't use them. I think it is a texture thing.

To answer the question about the ingredients, I went to the store and looked. The Arm & Hammer stuff didn't have kind of ingredients on the box that I could see. I did buy a product by Citrus Magic and the ingredients listed Borax, natural citrus oils, and another odor eliminator but I can't remember how they listed. I remember the package said something about vegetable derived odor eliminators. Maybe I can find a supplier of all natural lemon oil or orange oil?
