I am excited to be making some soaps with fall scents and wondered about pumpkin. I am ordering from Brambleberry and wondered if any of y'all could tell me which of these two fragrances you liked, or if you preferred one over the other--pumpkin pie cybilla or pumpkin spice?

Thanks so much!

I like BBs, I've used both.

Thank you! I spoke with my friend last night that has used BB's and she said it smells heavenly. So that is the one I ordered! :)

I just made some with Pumpkin Pie and it smells really good. Maybe I'm just missing it, but which one did you end up buying?

Thanks for replying to my question!

I did order the BB Pumpkin Spice. It takes a whole week to get to me, so it should be here tomorrow. I cannot wait to try it out!

Let me know how it turns out! Like I said, I bought the other scent, which is really good, but I'm curious about the other...

I will be honest...I don't really like the BB Pumpkin Spice scent. Actually, let me rephrase that. I think it would smell GREAT in a candle or room spray. It, to me, is all spice and no pumpkin. The spices smell quite good and true to their "real" kitchen scents, but it is not a fragrance I care for in soap.

Trying to figure out if I want to order the Pumpkin Pie cybilla or find a pumpkin fragrance somewhere else. I was hoping to have some pumpkin soaps ready in 3 weeks and am running out of time!!

Did you already try it some soap? Sometimes it takes a while for the true scent to come out, at least in my experience. Did you put pumpkin in the recipe as well? That might help... You're right though. These pumpkins scents usually smell more like spice rather than actual pumpkin. I think we just associate those spice smells with pumpkin pie.

Yeah, I make M&P soap, and I made it yesterday. I think what I am looking for is a slightly more buttery, or vanilla, or creamy type fragrance. Does the pumpkin pie cybilla have any of those "notes"?

Oh, I do CP not M&P so much. So far it is pretty much the spice smell (I went and sniffed after I saw your post) I try to hold my judgement on fragrance until it has cured. I wonder if you added some vanilla with it if it would be more what you are looking for? Put a couple drops of each on a cotton ball and experiment a little.

I only have tahitian vanilla right now but I might sample it like you said and see what I get. I also have a little bit of carrot cake--that might be a good combo too! Thanks!

If you want more of a buttery/vanilla scent go with southern garden scents. I was actually looking for more of a spice scent so I got the Cybilla one and love it. Both are good, just different.

But if you want buttery...get Southern Garden Scents Pumpkin FO.

The Pumpkin Pie is very "spicy" as well. I even had pumpkin puree in the soap, and it still is very spicy like allspice. I love it, but I understand what you are saying...
