Hi, been doing MP but recently started learning CP. Not sure I'm doing it right yet but I wanted to post what I have so far. This is my first batch, ingredients:
11 oz. Olive Oil
8.9 oz. Coconut Oil
7.9 oz. Palm Oil
2.1 oz. Jojoba Oil
.5 oz. Shea Butter
4.3 oz. Lye
10 oz. Distilled Water

I haven't made CP before so I noticed some things I need to do different or better. I think I soaped too cold (around 90-95 degrees) and this batch did not seem to gel or heat up. I was worried about too thick trace for swirls and though it appeared to trace I wonder if it was too thin. Also, it is extremely soft, or at least, much softer than I thought it would be. It's a little greasy to the touch but I tried the tongue thing and nothing zappy happened that I noticed. The colors aren't as bright as I would like but I'm new at this and figure each batch will be a learning process. Here's my pics.

After unmolding, 36 hours and still softish. They look like they have beads of moisture on them the first night of sitting out to dry but after that night I haven't seen moisture since.


Sitting in the cabinet tonight, no moisture, they feel a tad bit harder, still kinda fragile. IDK if they are usuable but I guess we will see.

Thanks! It's copper mica and green oxide. Scent is BB coconut lemograss.

Fiesty, I love your swirls. I think I will always be swirl challanged, but then that gives me something to work on! I have a feeling we are going to see some fantastic soaps from you. Please continue to share.

I'm back to try to post a photo of one of the newer soaps I made... had some trouble getting the pictures to show so I hope this works. These were done with oatmeal, milk and honey. I used all goats milk and that is where the color comes from.
