I love using titanium dioxide to get a nice white color, but I'm getting a little frustrated. I can never get even coloring. There are always little swirls of discolored soap. I add the t.d. early on, mixed w/oil and then stick blend, so I know its being incorporated.

Here's an example: (sorry, not the best picture)

How do you get a nice even color and what am I doing wrong?

Titanium Dioxide is the only dioxide I use...for color...but the water soluable does the same as the oil in your picture. I get it from time to time when I do not stir completely...and I only hand stir...so I've learned really agitating the TD on the bottom of the lye container helps right BEFORE adding to oils. I almost always have some TD left over in the bottom of the lye container. I only hand stir now...because I've burn up too many stick blenders...husband said NO more...use a spoon!! LOL :lol:

I had a thought...u are making layered soap...when I layer my soap or try a swirl...and the soap temps are off I get this same effect with the TD. Could that be your problem?
