Teach Soap

I just made a batch of Hp Acne soap, you know activated charcoal, lye, coconut oil, lye, castor oil ad of course, olive oil, and when I took it out of the oven, it was the consistency of glossy looking mashed potatoes. Now, an hour later, I go to check it to see if it cooled down, and when I lightly pressed the top, it wants to sink in!! When am I supposed to cut it? I thought I was able to cut it after about an hour? Should I wait 24 hours? Thanks guys!!

You can glop it into your mold as soon as it's finished cooking. Wait til it's completely cool before cutting. With HP there are usually some bubbles trapped in the soap.

Thank you SoapBuddy. Will my soap look ugly on the inside? How do I make HP without any imperfections on the inside? Can I make HP without going through the gel stage? Thanks!!

HP soap will look on the inside like cooked soap, with possibly some trapped bubbles. If you want your soap more smooth, I would suggest that you CP the soap, pour it into your mold and put it in the oven at 170 degrees (US) til it's in full gel. Take it out, let it cool, then cut. It will still need to cure and for extra water to evaporate.

I used my digital camera and then I used my cell phone, the files are still to large, no matter how small I make them. It keeps saying that my file is too big, can't be no bigger than 25 kib.

Ok. sign up with Photobucket. Then upload your pics there. Then run the pic through their resizing program. That should shrink them enough so you can post them here.
