Teach Soap

I know this might sound silly, but, I have olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, grapeseed oil and hazelnut oil. Is there anything in this or something from the grocery store that i can use instead of the palm oil? I want to make cp but I can't afford palm oil right now. Also, I have some cp that I rebatched and it looks so ugly, but its also not big enough to be actual soap bars. What can I do with it? Am I able to grate it and make some type of laundry detergent, and if so, what else would I need? Thank you very much!!

Olive oil, coconut oil & castor oil should be fine to make soap with. I don't use palm at all. I would save the grapeseed oil and hazelnut oil for other applications, since they make soap soft. For the rebatch, you could shred it and add it to another batch.

Thank you soapbuddy!! Now let me ask you, what do you think the ratio of castor oil should be to the olive and coconut oil? Let's say I want to make a 2 pound batch? When do I add the rebatch to the fresh batch? Thanks again soapbuddy!!

Castor is a soft oil, but helps with bubbles. I would go no more than 5%. For me, anything over 20% coconut is drying, so that's the % I would use. Then the rest as olive oil. You can add the rebatch at medium trace. If there is no fragrance you can add the rebatch at heavy trace.

Thank you soapbuddy!! I went to the MMS lye calc and I put in 9 oz olive oil, 3 oz castor and 3 cocnut oil. The percentages it gave was 20% castor, 20% coconut and 60% olive. So the coco and olive is correct, but i need to lower the percentage of castor so it equals 5%? Does that make sense?

I would go with 20% coconut, 5% castor and 75% olive.
