I was thinking, since we can color soaps with herbal powders and spices, can you also do that with candles? Has anyone tried it? Do the wicks get clogged at all? What about the scent of the powder? Or do they burst into a ball of flames, or just dwindle out?

Just curious :P

They would clog the wick causing a fire hazard. I wouldn't do it.

Boo :( It was worth asking :)

But, the anxious and experimental side of me went ahead and is trying it anyway lol. I'm going to thoroughly strain the wax with the powder through cheesecloth and see what happens. I will ONLY burn the candle when I can watch it to make sure I don't set anything on fire

Obviously any bulky herbs would be a fire hazards. Although I'm sure they'd look pretty!

I made the most beautiful peach colored candle by doing a spice infusion. It looks fantastic! I've ordered an extra fine mesh strainer to ensure I get all the particles out. But, I'm doing a burn test on 2 candles I made this way, and so far, so good!
