Teach Soap

I saw this listing from etsy and wonder how this swirl is done. Anyone?

I remember seeing a soap which won an award similar to this a while ago. I believe they used a standard log mould and placed a divider in the centre of the mould down the length then poured two different colours, one on either side, then removed the dividers. Then they used a chopstick to combine the two colours. I suppose in this example, they could use two dividers, and pour white, purple, white then remove the dividers ,and combine the colours. Or I could be way overthinking this! But that's my best guess...

The dividers would be placed in the mould vertically NOT horizontally. So in one section it would be filled with white only, the next section purple only, and the last section, white again. The dividers would then be removed and you could swirl with a chopstick or maybe even a small whisk (reaching the full depth of the mould).

Does that make more sense?

Looks to me like this was done horizontally as normal, but pouring a small layer of the white in first, then pouring a 2 inch or slightly smaller length in the centre in the purple, again then a full band of white, and repeating the purple centre band and so on until the top. Placing a coathanger bent exactly the length of the mold, put in vertically dead centre and moving from left to right and you slowly removed the coat hanger from the top centre. I agree that the fact that there is a topping shows it was done horizontally. Hope I am not overthinking this too - lol. Either way, it is a great looking soap.

I've done something similar with my SoapHutch mold. He made me a middle divider so I can pour 2 different colors, take out the divider, then swirl the two.

It's done horizontally. I said left to right (horizontally), making sure that the skewer reaches all the way to the bottom.

How do you hold the skewer horizontally all the way to the bottom and pull out?

I saw a tutorial where someone did something like this. They used a wire coat hanger and put it down into the soap (it was about the length of the mold) and swung it side to side as they were pulling it up. I'm going to have to try it.
