Hi, I have just started making CP soap, my first batch was made 4 weeks ago, I was very excited to use my soap and when I used it on my hands I felt it tingle for a while, is this because the soap is not ready to use yet? Also with the cut off pieces of scrap (CP) soap can I just melt it down and re-batch it? I'm quite nervous in making mistakes and hurting skin

If it tingles after 4 weeks of curing time, your soap could be lye heavy. Did you add any mint oil to it by any chance? Do you have an accurate scale? If this was a small batch, you are better off converting your soap oils into grams.

I didn't use mint oil, the only things I used to scent the soap where rosemary and heather sprigs. My scales were purchased just for soap making but I shall double check them, after another week or two if the soap still gives me a tingling sensation does that mean my soap needs to be thrown away thank you soapbuddy x

How much Rosemary did you use per lb. of oils? If the soap still tingles after another week, I would save it for washing floors, tub or sink. If it was a small batch, sometimes it's better just to throw it away.

Thank you for that advice, I just hope the other batches that I have since made are ok to use, ps just had a look at your web site and I love your sculpted flowers.
