Hi there,
I'm fairly new to this site and was wondering if I could use the birch molds for my Hot Process Soap? Also, My colors don't always turn out in HP. What is the best type of coloring for HP that doesn't morph. Thank you, Mamabird

Sure you can! Just line it as if it was for CP soap. Oxides and ultramarines work well with HP soap. Some micas do too, with the addition of a little bit of glycerin for easier mixing. What colors are you using now?

Hi, thanks for replying! I'll order the birch mold today. Should I spray the inserts with anything to help them release better? I've used the oxides and ultra marines but my colors aren't consistant or they morph. Especially Blues and Lavenders. And I'm not sure what to mix them with, or do I just put them straight into the soap? I'm not the gratest at color and I'm really needing a change. I want beautiful vibrant color desperatley! Is that possible with HP? I don't even know how much per pound.

You can spray the inserts, lightly oil them with mineral oil which doesn't saponify or use a fairly hard recipe. You can also use sodium lactate or a small amount of beeswax (1%) to make your bars harder so they are easier to unmold. I like micas for bright colors. Take a look at BrambleBerry site here: http://www.brambleberry.com/Micas-C46.aspx
