Teach Soap

For the sake of argument lets say you're making a batch of soap that's 100 ounces.
You're making it at zero percent superfat.
You add 4 ounces of EO
Have you now made your soap with 4% superfat?

I would argue that it would count as a superfat, because superfat is described as the oils that haven't reacted with the lye to make soap. And an EO is an oil. (Chemist point of view)

Thats what I was thinking . . so when I make a soap at 5% it really ends up at 8.34% superfat? Considering the addition of
2 ounces scent

(2 ounces of 58.5 = 3.4% right? figuring 2 divided by 58.5 )

I was wondering that too since I just made some 10x orange EO soap. I used 2.5 oz. plus .5 of Patchouli .

EO's do not have a SAP value and thus would not make any superfat. So if you have a soap with 0% superfat and add essential oils, you would still have soap with 0% superfat.

(I had thought the carrier oils were like a vegetable based oil or something)

If the essential oil is prediluted in a carrier oil like almond, it might make a difference in your superfat; especially in smaller batches. If it's just EO, it won't make a difference.
