Hello every body, I am new to Forum.l love to make soap, although l have problems that l just can't figure out.
Some of my batches have bubbles on top of soap, and look like they go through gel stage for a long time.
l was thinking soap temps to high ? or to much insulation ?
my soap temps are from 45 c to 50c.
l have just done a batch last night at 40c to see how it goes.
Any clues would be appreciated.

Welcome!
If you are using a stick blender, it could be adding bubbles to your soap.
I don't let my soaps come to gel, so I'm not sure if your soap overheated.

thank you for replying to my query.
l have spent a few hours today, checking out soap sites and following other peoples similar problems, some call it alien brain, and think it is caused by overheating.

So l am going to make the same soap again and see if l can stop it overheating ?
Is 45c an okay temp for soap ?

And can l please ask, does soap have to gel or not ?

Soap does not have to gel. I don't gel any of my soaps. As a matter of fact, some of my soaps go into the fridge or the freezer to help prevent gel.

I am a newbie that has not started yet but read something here I do not quite understand. To gel or not to gel? I guess in everything I have read on the net and in books my patience got the best of me and I skipped this. What does all of this mean and how do you get around gelling or not gelling? I understand my recepies, trace and pouring and curing, but am confused on gelling and I will be using Goat Milk. Thank you for any insight and help you can give.
