I made some lotion bars and they seem/feel ok- I just used a bar for the first time today so still need to use it more to see if I need to tweak my recipe. My question is about the beeswax. It's the only thing that had a "smell" to it-it's not bad but I was wondering...if I were to add fragrance, would it get rid of the beeswax smell, or would the lotion bar smell like beeswax AND fragrance? I used beeswax, mango butter, avocado oil and sweet almond oil.

If your beeswax is scented, then yes, the scent will come through along with the fragrance.

that's what I was afraid of..thanks soapbuddy. I've used my lotion bar some more and decided I'm not a fan of the beeswax smell..and my husband thinks it stinks, lol. Does the white, bleached beeswax have any scent to it? It's hard to tell from reading the description. I don't know what else to use and I'm satisfied so far with the other ingredients..I think I need to use less of the avocado oil though.

Anyone need some yellow beeswax?

If you get the white refined beeswax from BrambleBerry, that one has no scent and it's fabulous to use in lots of things; including soap.

great! looks like I will be ordering the white beeswax next time..thank you! Maybe I should have asked this BEFORE I put my last order in, lol. Ah well....

Hmm..beeswax in soap? M&P soap? Would you melt it down first.. before adding to the melted soap base?

I just wanted to mention too that since I ordered some mango butter, I put a little of it in with my soap base....omg..wow!

I want to put some Babassu oil in my lotion bar, has anyone worked with this oil before? I've heard it is great in lip balm, but haven't heard any feedback from it in lotion bars.
