Teach Soap

Ok, now that I have accomplished making body lotion, I am interested in making a moisturizer for my face. I'm sure there is a difference between lotion and a moisturizer, but I'm not sure what. Any suggestions or ideas? You guys have been awesome at helping me in the past!

You can use a cream or a lotion as a moisturizer. Just sub some nice oils or butters that would do well on the facial skin.

So would the process of making the moisturizer the same as making lotion, just subbing the right butters and oils for the face?

Grapeseed oil is excellent for the skin of the face

Ok, let me ask y'all this. I've been doing some research on face moisturizers and they call for stuff called lecithin. What is that? Also I see recipes calling for borax, lanolin...is any of that really necessary? I dont use beeswax in my lotion because I have friends who are allergic. I just want to make the moisturizer as simple as possible but need some reassurance from y'all.

I wont forget my preservative...that is a must! I just wanted to make sure that those particular ingredients aren't necessary. I will keep you posted on my progress. I'm a little nervous because it for the face, so I'm hoping that it's not going to be too thick or anything like that.

When making a moisturizer, do I need to add zinc oxide and titanium dioxide? And, would the percentage of the ingredients be the same as my lotion? I want to think no, but I need a second opinion please!

Ok, I'm sure that I'm repeating this question but does the percentage of ingredients somewhat stay the same as in the lotion recipe? I just want a basic idea of how much of water, oils, etc like what was posted on Teach Soap for the lotion. Does that make sense?? I have the ingredients for a moisturizer, but I want to make sure that I know what I'm doing.

What's the difference? I want to make a moisturizer for me, and possibly sell it in the future but something that's not too difficult.
