Hi everyone,
I recently purchased some LCP soap base from BB just to try out the low sweat formula and I found it drying my skin out. So I tried to put some shea butter in the white base and liquid silk in the clear base but still, not as moisturizing as the SLS free natural bases. Also, it's gets more bubbles in the mixing. I found myself using the alcohol spritz more often. And it does not flow as smoothly when doing the swirling affect. Anyone else has any suggestion on working with LCP bases? What's everyone's experience?

Hi cat040876,

I've had similar experiences and outcomes using LCP.
I live in beautiful, sunny, and humid Florida and I thought LCP was the answer to sweating soap. I know it has less glycerin, but if it dries the skin, what are we to offer in our humid locations?
I also battle the bubbles, even though I heat and stir carefully.
I love the look and feel of the LCP.....hopefully some more experienced with this product can offer some insight.
Has anyone talked to the manufacturer of LCP?

Is it just me or LCP soap does not last as long as other bases? I've been using the LCP base soap for less than a week only and it's down to half size, just 2 people using it everyday!

Unlike alot of soaper's posts that I've been reading, I don't use just one base in my soaps. I vary them, depending on what recipe I've come up with. As for the LCP base, I use this in moderation with another base. My thinking is two-fold; the first being that I am hoping it will help contribute to less sweating in my soaps, the second being the other bases and additives will make up for its more drying effect. I don't know if this helps or not... just stating how I use it.

Mixing bases is an interesting concept. Would be good to test if skin dries using bases with more glycerin or butters and then mixing with LCP.
I added a bit of shea butter, but it doesn't really incorporate in the base. It sorta' disperses, but not seeing that it actually blends.
Since low sweat, sweats less because it has less glycerin, maybe a smidge of glycerin, but not as much in the premade bases (20%) would make the soap less drying and strike the happy medium to prevent sweating. Now that I've rambled on, I'm thinking why not call the manufacturer and try to find out how much glycerin in LCP compared to their regular bases. Why wouldn't they offer LCP with butters or oils as they do with their regular bases?
Maybe sweating isn't a big issue with too many?

It rains every afternoon for about 5 months in Florida...thought LCP would be perfect.

Thanks for all the comments...hope there are more.
