Yes indeed - Silverpegasus you have warmed all our hearts!!! I must agree with pops1 ... have been doing my best to sniff as many FOs as I can (damn this blocked nose) and have been scribbling colour combos and ideas on random bits of paper!!!!

Perhaps we could all suggest some questions that we think would be good to have on the feedback form? Maybe some of our more experienced International soapers (who have done soap swaps before) could help us with some good questions too?
I'm guessing there will have to be 1 feedback form per soap? Silverpegasus I will help with the forms if you need. Just let me know!

Hi everyone. Having traveled from NZ with various soapy bits about my person and luggage I have now arrived in Melbourne and will be here till the1st of June. Is there a size (weight) for the soaps? I hope not because I brought all the base I had with me and the Grandaughter has already been 'helping' which is fine but not having unlimited supplies could be tricky. I will post from here but where to? I have just made the first part and it looks OK (tantalising you all here). Off to try the next bit. Gee never felt so nervous or excited for a long time.

Has a date been set for the swap yet?

I don't want to fall behind, LOL!

As per PurpleMolly's excellent suggestion, these are the types of things for the feedback form I would like answered for my soaps, maybe they would be useful to draft up the form?

* On a scale of 1 to 10, rate the over all appearance of the soap.
* Would you consider the soap to be lightly, well balanced or too heavily scented?
* Describe the lather, ie rich, creamy, light lather, coloured lather etc
* Are there any noticable flaws in the soap such as bleeding, discolouration, cracks, splitting etc?
* How long did the soap last, where was it used (ie, shower, basin, kitchen) and how many people used it before it was all gone?
* On a scale of 1 to 10, rate the appearance and functionality of the packaging, ie too hard to open, not secure enough, not functional, unattractive, too basic, too elaborate etc
* What do you think is a fair retail price for the soap?
* Would you buy this soap at a market or online if you saw it? Yes/No - explain
* Give constructive feedback on how the soap maker can further improve his/her skills.

Are there any CP soapers involved in the swap? I'd love to make CP soap but I want to do a course before I jump into it, I'm quite wary of the lye!

And thanks for the compliment snowxwhitex :D

well im not worried about filling out feedback forms for you but i dont really want to ask you for feedback lol im just doing this for a bit of fun, and when you start filling out forms its like your judging my soap and i dont think i like that :? sorry, i know im the minority and im going to play along with what ever you all decide but thats just my feelings towards it all.

and also, is there a weight we are basing the soaps on? mainly because the soap i am going to make probably doesnt weigh very much

and whats the dead line? i better get started...

I'm happy to go with a feedback form or without a feedback form ... doesn't worry me!! Just excited to see what everyone else is up to! :) But I don't think it's about "judging" other's soaps - it's more about getting positive and constructive feedback from other soapers. Perhaps those that don't want feedback can put a note in with their soaps saying that and those who would like feedback put a note in with their soaps ... whatever is easiest!

I know I get a variety of people to sniff the FOs and EOs and tell them the colours I'm thinking of using - have come up with some lovely colour combos that I wouldn't have thought of myself ... have also looked at people like "are you mad?" and just done what I originally planned! It's just that "one step removed" feedback that can be really helpful.

Do we have an address to mail the soaps to yet? Not that I've even made mine yet .... But I am thinking really hard about what I'm going to do!!!!!

As far as weight goes - I make loaf soap and slice it so mine are between 90g - 100g. As in many things in life  I don't think size matters (tee hee). It's more so that we can appreciate what everyone is doing in their own "soaping world" so if you only make guest size soaps - that's OK ... if you make HUGE 200g soaps - that's OK too!

This is just my opinion - feel free to disagree!!!!

Nah, no address yet.

Yeah probably a good idea for everyone to just do their own form and pop it in with their soaps.

i'm pretty excited to see everyone's soaps too. Still have nothing in mind, considering my first batch went belly up. I want to do something alice in wonderland themed.. just trying to think of ideas.. colours etc

Hey guys,

No I haven't send my address around yet. I've had a really busy week and I'm in a bit of a rush tonight, but I'll try and do that tomorrow.

Exactly what everyone else said on size. I think an average sized bar soap is about 100g but whatever you can/want to do is fine as has been said.

My opinion on the feedback forms is that if you want one filled out, send it with your soap to me and I'll distribute it along with the soaps. I agree with some of the others in that I wouldn't mind a little feedback perhaps in a question along the lines of "anything you wanna say about it?" but I really don't feel ready to get quite such detailed feedback as has been suggested. All those questions to me seem very confronting where for others they would seem really helpful so it's up to you all what you want.
