Oh wow! thanks for sharing the link with us!
I usually use fish pond, but i'll only buy a book if they re second hand from there, cause brand new they re a bit exy.. like Debbie's Soapylove, is about $26.00 new. I almost got it from Amazon for $2 used but postage was $30 so I let it go. cheaper to buy it from oz

Back from my holiday. Is there a cut-off time for sending the soaps? Also, what's the best way to package 6 soaps for mailing? I'll probably think of more questions later, but that's it for now. Oh, do we send 6 of the same soap?

not sure yet of details, today was the cut off date for people to join the swap, we're just waiting on details from the host.

Okay guys we have our final list. No more sign ups for this round.
The final list is:

Me (silverpegasus)
snowxwhitex
goddessbec
SueBre
pops1
chemicalx
PurpleMolly
Greensock

So seeing as there is 8 people participating, you will each need to make 7 Soaps to send to me for distribution.

You can make different soaps if you want to, but seeing as each person will only get one of your soaps and will not receive any double ups, in most cases it will be easier to make 7 soaps that are exactly the same or perhaps two different types depending on your moulds (now to narrow down which one :P )

Postage - I tried to research this on the Australia Post website last night and just ended up confused. It seemed to imply you could buy prepaid parcel post padded envelopes, however I couldn't find exact details of this. I will either go into my local post office tomorrow or Friday and ask someone there what our best option would be. I will also send you all my postage details over the next couple of days.

To account for the fact I'm still working the postage out and also to give enough time to soap, does a 3 week deadline sound ok to everyone? Post to me by Wednesday 2nd of June. The soaps shouldn't take any longer than a couple of days to get to me after that if you ended up leaving the post to the very last minute.

Unless there are any objections, you can choose to send either MP or CP/HP soap. If you do choose the latter you will need to also sent a date the soap will be safe to use from.

Send a list of ingredients with the soap. It doesn't mater if you're a new soaper and haven't designed a label yet, or don't even want to design a label. Simply send a printed sheet with your soaps. If you do choose to send a printed sheet, don't forget to sent 7 copies so that I can distribute them with the soaps.

I think that's all. Let me know if I've missed anything.

This is pretty much what we're looking at for postage padded bags:

http://auspost.com.au/personal/packagin ... paddedbags - And then paying for the weight of the parcel.

Probably would be easier if we package our soaps in a box and then buy a "up to 3kg satchel", these are thin and you can fold them and put them inside the box. (you could reuse everyones bubble wrap to re wrap and protect the soaps in the returning satchel) The satchel's are about $5.60 each.

the 3kg bags are closer to $9 something (the 500gm one is the $5.70 one)

ive done a swap like this before but it was for jewellery - basically we sent the items in the 3kg bag to the host and included a self addressed 3kg bag to have the items returned in. just an idea for you .

Can't wait to get started but my mind is in a whirl just which one to do :?:
I think the 3Kg satchel is probably the best idea it will save an awful lot of mucking around especially if we address our own return envelopes.

sorry you're right, it is closer to $9.
So we just bubble wrap or protect our soaps and then pop them into the satchel with another self addressed satchel?
sounds good to me :)

I like Snowxwhitex's previous idea of packing them in a box first then putting them in the satchel ,it will give them more protection.Even a cereal box will help protect them.

I would just like to say a big Thankyou to Silverpagasus for hosting our soap swap. Its so exciting to actually participate in something like this.I was always so envious of our overseas friends when they had their swaps.A bit nervous though my soaps being looked at close up by my peers ,had all the moulds out and still can't decide on which one ,looked at all the FO's same problem even the colour is getting some indepth thinking,my hubby wanted to know if l thought l was entering in the Melbourne Show or something.
