Teach Soap

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but I have made several batches of liquid soap, and apparently, I did it 'right', b/c they're all nice and clear. The problem is, I don't like that look. I tried the pearlescent soap recipe in the soapmaker's handbook and even it came out clear. Not as brown as the recipes I've tried since, but still clear.

Is it possible to get really pearly, or even white, soap, and have it be fully saponified and 'good' soap?

You can superfat it, but it won't be pearly unless you add a pearlizer. It will be more cloudy. If you want white liquid soap, you can add titanium dioxide.

I have done some research on making liquid soap but could not find the answer to my question so...Is the only reason you don't superfat liquid soap to get a clear product, or is there other reasons too?

Thanks soapbuddy, I'd rather the extra oils and have cloudy soap I think

Thanks for the tips. If using TD, do you add it while it's cooking or can it be added when fragrance and color are?

Also, the BB pearlizer...what's the INCI ingredient list for it? I like the idea, but there aren't any details about what it is on the website. Thanks, Bramblemama.

Add the TD to your soap oils. It's easier that way.
