Hi, noni,

You can use the LCP (Like Cold Process) bases just like you do the regular M&P bases. The difference is that the LCP base has less glycerin in it, so it "sweats" less and does better in humid environments. I guess it's "Like Cold Process" because less glycerin means that it lasts longer in the shower than regular M&P base, which has extra glycerin added to it. I suppose the trade-off is that the LCP could feel less moisturizing since there is less glycerin, but I've never noticed a huge difference in that regard.

Have fun! :D

Would a little shea butter added to the LCP make it more moisturizing and not reduce the lather?
When adding shea butter to the clear LCP, does it make it cloud? I've ordered some to try, but this topic came up and now I'm asking.

Thanks!

Meant to say this earlier but my brain decided that it didn't need to show up for work today: I think LCP base is called "Like Cold Process" because it's supposed to have the look of cold-process soap and allow you to wrap the soap in paper. When I used the LCP base, though, I went ahead and wrapped it in plastic wrap anyway, so i don't know how the "low sweat" base does unwrapped firsthand.

group3studio, I don't know what to say about adding shea butter to LCP base, but hopefully someone else will! I've never tried that, so I don't know if it would cloud the base or reduce its lather. I know folks here do add butters and oils to their bases just fine, but I'm not sure what amounts would be best. Hopefully someone who has tried it can give you some advice. :)

I use LCP opaque all the time because of the humidity problem here in Australia,l use shea butter in it to make up for the fact that its not as moisturizing as other bases also jojoba ,honey, cocoa butter and just about any other thing you can think of.Can't help you with the clear though we can't get it in Australia.I also still wrap mine in saran ,dust etc works its way through fabric and my customers prefer to see what they are getting anyway.

Sorry to take so long to get back!!! My hubby and I loooooove the Tropical Vacation, it smells like pineapple w/ a slight sweet musky scent. The Beach Breezes is ok, maybe it will smell better in the soap; but I have realized that in MP, the scent oob smells exactly like in the soap. I would pass on this one. This scent smells like cantaloupe to me, I have no idea why because there is no fruits in this scent!!! The third and final scent I ordered was Sea Shore (Cybilla). This scent smells, to me, exactly how it's described, like water, sand and air. This one is better than the Beach Breezes but the Tropical Vacation is the one closest to my heart for now. If you want; I will update you after I do the MP!!! :)
