I would like to add some type of salt to the top layer (or all 4 sides if possible) of an MP loaf that I would like to do, but after reading other posts; I'm not sure if this is even possible. Is there a way that I can turn an MP soap into some type of soap/exfoliation bar? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!!! Thank you!!!
Sonya

Sonya I do from time to time MP soap with salt.

Done a little glycerine into a mold, let it cool a bit and then made salt, then put it in the refrigerator to chill.
Once cold cut it into pieces I put in the mold of soap you use and pour over the rest of the soap that I have prepared, trying not to become very hot because if it melts it and put in the soap mold
Here you leave a link where I have a picture, do not know if I appreciate very much.

I agree with Ana Maria, in glycerin m&p you either want to keep track of the temperature of the base or use a base specifically formulated for suspension. Generally clear glycerin soap is workable for suspension at around 120 f. The size of the salt grains may be a consideration as well (bigger ones will want to settle in warmer temps). Best of luck in your endeavors :D

I use Coarse Sea Salt in my M&P and in a Solid Shampoo base and it seems to hold well in warm M&P and never seems to dissolve. I would recommend Coarse Sea Salt.

Update on my sea salt soap. I un-molded and it just didn't turn out right. The salt melted great into the soap. but it is so soft and doesn't later as well as I would like.

I find sea salt still has a lot of natural moisture. That could be why the soap came out soft.

You're right Soap buddy, It was something I just had to try and learn the hard way lol.
In my mind i knew it wouldn't but something said " do it, it might work and if it does it will be cool"
