OK, I am new to soaping, I have about 5 batches of CP under my belt. If I have this right, I can make my CP like I have been, then put my wooden loaf mold in the oven at 170 degrees, then turn the oven off. Take the mold out of the oven after a few hours (or overnight) and cut the soap. Then just a 2 week cure time?

What am I missing? Why would I not do CPOP? It seems like a great alternative to shorten cure time.

Is the final product just as nice?

Thank you all in advance for your wisdom!

I use both methods. I have found some fragrance oils fade a bit with cpop, so you have to experiment with them and watch that. Some will overheat.
With that said, here is what I do: I place my batch of soap in the oven at 170 degrees and leave the oven on for 1 hour, then turn the oven off and leave my soap batch in there overnight. I cut my bars 24 - 48 hours after I pull the batch out of the oven, then cure for a minimum of 3 weeks.

It all comes down to personal preference.
