this might sound like a silly question, but I love making soap already, even though I am new at it. the thing is, is that I can't stand waiting for the soap shipment and I can't afford to over night or 2 day deliver it. can anyone suggest what kind of store I could maybe go to in order to purchase a decent soap base? thank you.

I don't know where you're at, but stay away from Michael's. Their MP base is pretty bad.

I am in Charlotte, North carolina. I have to say I'm pretty gung ho, when I get my teeth into something.....!!! Anyway, I did go to Michaels and it was a disaster, I was so upset and disappointed. I bought Life of The Party Olive Oil soap base and ALL of the beautiful soap that I made peeled apart in layers!! I took that mess right back yesterday and they gave me my money bacK and told me to complain to the company!!! I didn't have an issue with their colors, but now I'm weary of buying any fillers or additives. I also bought the Amazing mold putty and was horrified to find out that for $20.00, you could only make about 3 to 4 decent sized molds out of it. I think i will go with Bramble Berry's flexy molding stuff. I don't know where to look around these parts for any supplies, I HATE waiting the 5 business dyas for my bramble Berry stuff!!! I'm like a fiend waiting for my fix!!! LOL

darn, you're too far away from me. I was going to say, if you were in LA, I could get you some BB base or WSP base (I have both).

Hi, noni,

So sorry about the disappointing experience with the Michael's base.

If you're in North Carolina, maybe try Elements Bath and Body (http://www.elementsbathandbody.com/) in Kentucky. Or Southern Soapers (http://southernsoapers.com/) in Virginia.

I have never ordered from Southern Soapers, but I think I've heard good things about them. I'm not 100% sure, but I think they carry SFIC brand soap base (which is Bramble Berry's soap base supplier, too, if I am not mistaken). Somebody please set me straight if I am wrong. SFIC base is a good, high-quality base.

I have ordered from Elements several times before, and I like them. They carry SFIC base. I'm in Florida, and my stuff from them arrives in 2-3 days UPS.

I hate to steer business away from Bramble Berry on their own forum, but if you want your soap quicker, maybe these will work for you.

Have fun soaping! :D

SFIC base is great! I do prefer BB though, because they always give me excellent customer service (love Leah!!) and there's always a free sample inside, and it is always something I would never think to order, but I usually love it.

Southern Soapers sometimes has discount codes available. I've never personally ordered from them either, but I do know they carry SFIC.

Hope that helps!

im on the east coast of Australia, and i buy my soaps and other soap related things from the west coast of Oz.... it takes about a week to get here. Oh my gosh, you dont want to see me during that week of waiting! my BF just laughs at me, he just doesnt understand!

Over here i have NEVER seen soap in craft shops or anything like that so i guess the wait isnt that bad considering its either wait for the soap or go with out.

I am from Australia too and l have severe soaping material envy when it comes to the States.I think we probably buy from the same place goddessbec and my problem is not the length of time it takes to get my soaping material its the lack of certain products that we can't get here ,for example our supplier sells Low Sweat Coconut opaque which due to our high humidity l have to use but they doesn't supply the clear which is a darn nuisance .My dream is to get over to the States and visit Brambleberries and fill my cases with lots and lots of soaping goodies. :)

I'm in FL- not sure I could get much farther away from BB. You just have to be patient, and plan ahead. BB is the best, really.

I'm from West Oz, and just to make you guys SO JEALOUS!, I order online on Wednesday, and receive my box of goodies on Friday - and I live in a semi-rural area, 150 odd kms from Perth. I try not to look at BB's site, there's just so much on it that Aussie's don't stock. I did order some stuff from BB, and paid $30 shipping, but that hurts!
