This is probably for the more "seasoned" of us hehe. My company has three lines of soap, one for baby available year round, one another thats available all year round, and a limited edition line thats available spring/summer and fall/winter. Every year the new seasonal lines create a huge amount of excitement (as well as drawing lots of sales of old favorites) so much so that they sell out insanely fast - so fast that our wholesalers get disappointed that they didn't get the opportunity in time to carry them. This year we want to try to give our wholesalers the opportunity to pre-order the seasonals before they are available to the public. But to do this we need to set release dates and start concocting our goodies well ahead of time. So I'm looking for some opinions or ideas. When do you start production for the next season, when do you shoot to release it? For conversations purposes we'll use fall/winter as the starting point. Thanks so much everyone for you ideas!

I try to be a season ahead. Right now I'm working on things for the fall season. As soon as I'm done, I'll send a heads up to my wholesalers.

I finished my summer production this month and will start fall winter production in late May with the exception of the winter castiles which are already finished. I don't wholesale yet but I have my winter products finished before the end of summer and the summer products mostly finished by the end of winter. So I stay a season ahead the exception is my castile soaps which I try to age at least 6 months before selling them so they are made a full 6-9 months before I expect to sell them.
