Teach Soap

This batch was a pain lol. I goofed big time but it worked out. I was doing a funnel method but I waited to long to start pouring and the mix got way to thick so half was poured using the funnel method and the other half was swirled in. Then some how it started to volcano in the mold ( keep in mind this is my most popular soap so I make it at least once a month) so my pretty swirls got messed up. Some how I managed to save it. This is what it looked like today when I cut the soap.

That looks great, not to mention good enough to eat! Sometimes I think ingredients get together and plan a surprise just to keep us on our feet. I wonder what the near volcano was from. Does the fragrance go into high gear? The results are great, whatever the intention. You may have a new recipe now.

Some of my best soaps volcano, but then again...I sell to a major group of "Rockhounds". Looks great and even better then mine, I cannot get the swirl down to the bottom yet like yours. Good JOB.

I think it is a lovely looking soap the coloring and balance is perfect. What is it named? Naming is half the fun right! Don't call it lumpy that wouldn't be right~!

Thanks guys!!!! ... This soap is named Mint Chocolate. Couldn't think of any other names...

I'm thinking it could have been the pepermint EO what caused the volcano, I normally use bb EO but this time around I used one from a local supplier...

About my swirls, this was supposed to be funnel method but it got too thick. How I get the swirls at the bottom is by making 2 small layers of the colors I'm using, then do the rest as normal. I don't use a stick to swirl I use a spoon since it can grab more mixture at once. I bring mixture from the bottom up and that's what works for me. Now if you haven't tried the funnel method, go for it. It makes some really neat patterns on the soap.

Thanks soapbuddy, they are from a class and not a hands on class! Beautiful but I can't take any credit for the actual soap! I've been busy doing other stuff but I do know how to build the contraption to do this technique.

Oh yes the technique is very cool and it sounds like you have it figured out just fine. It will be fun then the hard part waiting a day or two before you can cut it. A lot like opening a geode to see the crystals inside! Have fun and share pic too!
