Teach Soap

Hello-

I want to make some Castille CP for my family which likes it. I like the mildness, but hate the slimy texture. This question is for those who use beeswax in your soap. Do you think adding 1 oz beeswax ppo will help prevent the slimy texture a bit?

I don't use beeswax in my all olive, but cure a good six months before use. That way there is no slime

I find pure olive soap too slimey for me. I need them bubbles. I add some castor oil to the olive and that seems to help.

Beeswax will help with hardness, but since this is mostly olive soap, it will harden quite nicely without it. I would go with just the castor and add 2 tsp. of sugar to your cooled off lye water. Don't add it while the lye water is hot, as it could caramelize. Keep an eye on it so it doesn't overheat. Sometimes sugar can do that.
