My first swirl/layers. My son is Guatemalan and the colors there are just breathtaking. I really wanted to use those colors to create a soap which inspired all those wonderful, fun feelings! I used the BB Energy FO and my goodness do these bars smell amazing! I had a little trouble with it and used FAR more white base than Anne-Marie suggested on the Soap Queen episode of swirls and the also had much more of a layered look. I'm also not particularly happy with how mustard-y the yellow oxide came out, but as they sat they grew on me! :)

Purplemolly, thanks :) yes, very sunset-ish, I'm even more happy with it today!

Cat, love the imagery! I just peeked at your shop and love it! I really love the glycerin with purples and reds. I think I found my nexy etsy buy!

Hey, all!

It's been a while since I posted here on this thread.

Here are some M&P soaps I've been working on:

Rosemary Mint Olive Oil soap:
Image
I used BB's Olive Oil base and patina sheen mica. It gives it such a lovely, shimmery sage green color!

Cucumber Melon:
Image
Love this fragrance, which is funny because I don't like cucumbers or melons! (If anyone is interested in how to do the tilted layers, I posted a tutorial on my blog:
http://wonderturtlesoaps.blogspot.com/2 ... ffect.html )

Grapefruit Splash:
Image
The interesting thing about this one is that I used BB's orange mica with a white base, thinking I would end up with a creamy pastel orange. Turns out, orange mica turns a dusky rose pink in white base! Oh, well, another happy accident. The other layers are BB's gold sparkle mica.

I love seeing everyone's soapy creations! Everybody does such beautiful work ... :D
