I was told by the BBerry sight to ask my question regarding the soapylove box of colors I purchased on this forum.

My question is there is no mixing guide for all the colors, it says you can make any color with the set but no GUIDELINES. On the back of my food coloring box it says 2 drops this one drop that give you soso and soso frosting color.

On the back of the lable for the box of Soapylove Jewel Tone colors it is a blank where this would fit well. I thought there might be a mixing guide on the Teach Soap but couldn't find one so I email BB and no quide there.

So can anyone tell me how many drops of fuscia and _____________________- make violet

So can anyone tell me how many drops of fuscia and _____________________- make purple or NAVY blue?

So can anyone tell me how many drops of _____________and _____________________- make red/orange

Thanks for any help as I'd appreciate this information from anyone who has it. Thanks so much!

That's hard to say because it depends on a couple of things. Are you using a clear MP base or the white? Did you want light, medium or dark color? I would start with one drop of color and see how you personally like it.

I would greatly appreciate a guide to make all the colors. I'd would probably use them all up just experimenting. They aren't very large bottles. Whether I use clear or white isn't the issue. Thanks soapbuddy.

Hi Mella!

This is Debbie from Soapylove. I would love to help you! :)

Here is a little chart I created showing how to create each basic color combination:
Image

Here is the general formula for each color you asked for:

1 drop of fuschia and 1 drop of turquoise makes violet
1 drop of red and 2 drops of turquoise makes NAVY blue
4 drops of yellow and 1 drop of red makes orange (Even 1/2 drop of red would be enough to make orange)

These would all be in CLEAR base, and depending on how much soap you are trying to color you may need more of less of each formula. If you are making just a bar or two, put your colors into a small cup, add an ounce of melted soap to the small cup to dissolve the shade, then pour as much as you need into the rest of your melted soap until you achieve the color intensity you like.

Since color is subjective, I suggest playing around and seeing what shade you like best. I think you'll find it as natural as painting with watercolors!

Thanks and have fun!

Thanks so much Debbie!
That pic is on the BB website as well, you just have to click on 'more images' to get it to come up. :D

Thank you Debbie! That is a darling color chart of the frogs! I appreciate the guideline it helps point one in the right direction. I've been trying to make navy blue this morning and this will do the trick I'm positive. Do you sell posters of the frogs? I would buy one it is so darling!

Any also thank you Anne Marie for that link! Unfortunately my computer goes to the link you shared and it doesn't stick nor does it open completely so I only get part of the photo of the frogez. Probably my computer.

Hi Mella!
I'm glad it's helpful! I don't sell posters, but I have made this photo part of "Creative Commons" which means it's a royalty and copyright free photo. Feel free to print one out! :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/soapylove/3338876301/

Thanks and have fun mixing colors!

Debbie that is so generous of you. I will look into creative commons, I like the idea of it. Well my blue is working out nicely. Happy coloring everyone!
