Teach Soap

Okay, so the good news is that I have been accepted to join a local farmers market ( hooray me!!!) The next bit of good news is that I am pretty sure that I am the only soaper there! AWESOME!!!! The problem... Can anyone tell me how much soap / scrubs I should have at a minimum? I am so scared that I am not making enough, its driving me crazy, there is a ton of information out there on "events" and percentages, but not farmers markets. The market said that on their busiest day, they get about 3500 people. Does that help? I plan on going only once a week.

i would bring about 200 bard or whatever product you bring...i usually sell around 3-400 dollars worth at my big markets...

How big will your table be? Is it 6" long? I would bring enough for a nice display on the table, then leave extras underneath to replenish. If it's your table, try setting it up in your back yard, so you can see what it looks like.

Thanks everyone! Im sure glad 200 bars is a good start. I can do that! And I will certainly do a "dress rehearsal" on my table. Thanks again for all the help on here, I love this site!

here is a tip for when bad weather approaches fast and you need to pull out and go (last year had a hail storm hit me in 10 min from a clear sky) i usually put my soaps in baskets so they are easier to throw into the car in case you need to... remember the less light stuf on your table the better... and the easier set up the better.. good and simple works best for farmer markets!! good luck!

When you are at the Farmer's Market say Hi, Hello, good morning, etc to EVERYONE who walks by. I can't tell you how many sales I got just by doing that 1 thing! People would say "I didn't see you" which I found amazing, but it was an easy thing to do to boost sales and didn't cost me a thing!
