Hi everyone, I need some more advice from you experience soapers please.
I made a batch 2 weeks ago using this recipe:
Canola 340gms
Coconut 260gms
Castor 80gms
Olive 235gms
Cocoa Butter 85gms
Lye 139gms
Goats Milk 380gms
I've used this recipe twice before and it's turned out great both times.
This time I decided to split the batch and add a different colour & FO to each half. I mixed the base recipe till it reached a very light trace then I weighed out half the batch into another container. I added baby powder FO & FDC Blue to the first half and poured it into the mould, still at a light trace. The 2nd half I used D & C green plus Sandalwood FO. From past experience I knew the Sandalwood would cause a seize so I had to work fast but it went into the mould fine, albeit a lot thicker than the first half.
I don't gel any of my goats milk soap & as soon as it was in the moulds I put it straight in the freezer. I unmoulded after 24 hours and cut it the following day with no problems.
I always leave my soap 2 weeks before doing a zap test - don't ask me why because I don't really know, it's just how I do it.

Anyway, I checked them today and the Sandalwood half was fine but the baby powder half left the tiniest tingle on my tongue.
So now to my question......... How can this be when they are both the exact same base batch of soap?
Will the baby powder one have to be rebatched or thrown out, or is there a chance it could come good in another week or so?
Thanks for your help.
